SPACE FOR RANT

Saturday, April 30 2005 4:43pm(shift: 8-5)
I know all of you probably know about this, but I thought I'd let you know just in case.
Prague is partly cloudy, 20-10. What? You expect something funny?

Friday, April 29 2005 2:14pm(shift: 7:30-noon)
Tee hee hee. I'd say you got what's coming to you.
Impress your cashier:
        Bananas: code 4011
Tokyo today was sunny, 20-15. Bleah.

Thursday, April 28 2005 11:22am(shift:6-11:30)
Yes!! Die, you evil mantis! You were all like 'look at that puny adol, he is not all that: i is all that. adol cant be all that cause i is all that.' And then I PWNED you. Yeah, that's right. I da man - I mean girl. Uh huh! Uh huh uh huh uh huh!
Anyway, I'm writing now because I have to work at seven thirty tomorrow morning, and I'm really going to need to sleep tonight as soon as I get home from work.
Today in Camaguey: mostly sunny, 30-20. Well, at least it's not actively raining where I am right at this particular moment...

Wednesday, April 27 2005 11:35pm(shift: 6-11:30)
Nothing happened anywhere today. Someplace in the world had weather and I am cheesed because it was better than ours. Go away. I am not ignoring you because I am obsessed with Ys for the NES...I swear.

Monday, April 25 2005 11:29pm(shift: 6-11:30)
Once again, there were practically no customers today. The only difference was, today, it was not my job to send the cashiers home early.
I lost twenty dollars tonight, but then I found it, so that was nice.
Lately, I've been playing Ys for the NES. Like, for about the last three days, and I haven't been using cheats - not that I didn't look for them - and this a step forward for me: usually I can't play in real time without cheats. If you have the ways and/or means, I suggest you check it out.
::ALMOST DAILY WEATHER REPORT::
Quimixtlan today had thunderstorms, but had a temperature of 25-10. I think that just about speaks for itself.

Sunday, April 24 2005 10:07pm(shift 3-10)
I woke up this morning and there was snow on the ground: SNOW! There should not be this much snow this late in the year this far south. It did melt later on, but it snowed all day and is still snowing now. I think Core has been Persephone long enough.
Work was dead today. I had to send people home early. And not ten minutes, or fifteen minutes, either: I was sending people home at least an hour early, because there was nothing for them to do.
Baghdad today was partly cloudy, 30-20: no snow for them!

Saturday, April 23 2005 5:17pm(shift: 8-5)
This was my first Saturday closing the store by myself...and I was only about two dollars out!
I rock: I rock so hard.
You know what doesn't rock? The fact that Beijing was partly cloudy and 25-10 while we have rain sometimes changing to snow.

Friday, April 22 2005 1:19pm(shift: 8-noon)
WOW! 100 hits on my site! And only 25% are me! I'd like to thank me, myself and I.
I would also like to thank Cairo for taunting me with its mostly clear 30-20 day today...not.

Wednesday, April 20 2005 11:24pm(shift: 4-11:30)
I AM THE BUTTON MASHING QUEEN!
I don't actually have an X-Box, so I had to break into somebody's house today to play DOA 3. Apparently, the person who's house I broke into has never seen anyone mash buttons as fast as I can: they didn't even think it was possible to do so that quickly. Therefore, I am proclaiming myself the Queen of Button Mashing. All my subjects will bow down to me and make several offerings each day, the actual content of these offerings will be decided on in a totally random manner, with the result known only to me. Anyone who offers the wrong offering will have their offering taken away, as well as any consoles, games for said consoles, TVs with which to view said games for said consoles, surround sound systems with which to hear said TVs for said games for said consoles...etcetera, etcetera, etcetera.
Today, Auckland was partly cloudy, and a balmy 20-10. Today, we had rain. Nice, eh?

Tuesday, April 19 2005 10:35pm(shift: 4-10)
If you like All Your Base, I suggest you see this. If you don't know All Your Base, click on the 'All Your Base' link first to find out about it: it's awesome.
We went up to 28 degrees today. That is hot. In fact, with the humidity (and us in our polyester work uniforms), it was too hot. Winnipeg today was clear skies, 10-0. While that is a little cool, at least it wasn't sweltering.

Monday, April 18 2005 11:35pm(shift: 5-11:30)
Why did the chicken cross the road?
To get to the other side.

Just the other day, I was thinking about this joke, and I finally got it. And I laughed. Very hard.
It's not the fact that it's just so stupid and obvious, it's a play on words just like most other jokes. Sure, 'the other side' could mean the other side of the road, but it can also mean 'the other side' as in dying. And, I mean, come on: what isn't hilarious about realizing that the oldest joke in the world, the first joke you probably learned as a child, is about nothing more than road kill?
In other news...AHH! THERE'S SPIDERS! GET THEM AWAY! GET THEM AWAAAAAAAY!
In other other news...(Same as above, insert random insects until your vocabulary runs out)
In other other other news...Angmagssalik (can you even pronounce that?) had light snow today, with a temperature range of 4-0. Spiffy.

Sunday, April 17 2005 12:51pm(shift: 8-noon)
Our seven o'clock didn't come in this morning. Our CS didn't come in 'till noon, when they were supposed to come in at 10. Congrats to our manager this morning, though, who managed to unlock the door this morning without setting off the alarm: bravo.
Base Orcadas is having rain and snow, and is only 2- -1. Wow: I suddenly feel better.

Saturday, April 16 2005 8:45pm(shift: 9:30-5)
I'm late today. So sue me (but actually, don't: I don't have enough money).
I like pie. And iced cream. If you're so inclined, you could send me pie and iced cream. But it would have to be by express mail: I wouldn't want the pie to get cold.
For all you who know and/or care, I finished the fifth chapter of my novel. This is good, as it was a flashback chapter, and I get really bored during flashbacks. Of course, it will still have to go through some major editing before I let anyone see it.
I may (mark that, may) put up a BONUS comic during the week, that I will write, probably tomorrow. But I'm not promising anything. This is my attempt to be mysterious.
Heh. Cusco was rainy all today, but I can't laugh about the 20-5 part.

Friday, April 15 2005 4:18pm(shift 6-Midnight)
Someone says I complain too much. I'm gonna write this now, so that nothing at work ticks me off to complain about (y'know, aside from the fact that I was supposed to start at eight today...
Oops. I'll try again.
Phase one of the evil ninja monkeys' training has begun. Current lesson: travelling in the shadows. The monkeys seem to be quite good at this exercise. Or, rather, they would be, if they would only stop flinging their feces and giving away their positions.
Mental note: use bananas as decoys?
I'm glad I'm not in THE HAGUE (it's a city that starts with the word 'the': why shouldn't it be bolded and capitalized) today: rain, and only 10-5. See, I don't always complain.

Wednesday, April 13 2005 11:20pm(shift: 6-11:30)
We have sunk so low. Today, I walk into work, and I see that we have 'grips' on our shopping carts. They are large, green, and say the store name on them. They also have this little 'table'-like thing right in the middle. And, displayed on this 'table' is an advertisment. Apparently, they weren't getting enough from the two ads on the end of the cart, now they have to put one at the front, too. Seriously, is nothing sacred anymore? Let my buggies go!
Like I keep saying, just because it is raining in, oh, say...Georgetown, doesn't mean I can't be envious of their 30-25 weather.

Tuesday, April 12 2005 10:40pm(shift: 2-10)
You people should be ashamed about this.
Today, I was supposed to work at 4:30, but they called me in early. As such, I didn't get a break until about 7:30. Do you know how much it hurts your feet to just stand around for five and a half hours, especially when you're not used to it anymore? A lot. I shouldn't complain, but then again, I'm Canadian: it's what I do best.
Miami today was partly cloudy, 25-20. Sniff: I think I feel a cold coming on.

Monday, April 11 2005 11:28pm(shift:5-11:30)
Even the weakest of the dragons can still breath fire.
Unless you work at my store, you're probably not going to get that.
I went out to buy my textbooks for the summer term today, and ended up buying three novels, as well. I almost went over my withdraw limit for the day. I'm so weak.
Today, Kyoto was cloudy, 15-5. Ha.

Sunday, April 10 2005 12:16pm(shift: 8-noon)
Do you know how hard it is to come up with 'light work' for someone who is injured, but still able to come in to work? Take it from me, you're pretty much ready to have the guy start counting bags at the tills. There is just not enough for the poor kid to do when he can't work the cash register.
Mbabane today was partly cloudy, 25-10. I hate it when other people have nicer weather.

Saturday, April 9, 2005 3:01pm(shift: 10-2)
Oh. My. God. Nuklear Power had this link up today, and I agree with Brian. This has to be the best thing ever produced by human minds.
p.s. if you don't like video games, you may not agree.
p.p.s. check out Kefka's music!
Ha, Vancouver, we're warmer than your partly cloudy 12-5.

Saturday, April 9, 2005 12:07am(shift: 8-Midnight)
Too tired. Need sleep.
Singapore may have had thunderstorms today, but it went up to 30 there. And only down to 25. Damnit.

Thursday, April 7, 2005 11:33pm(shift: 6-11:30)
You wanna know what's worse than being short $.01? Being over $.01. If you're over, you can't help thinking It's only a penny, if I take it, they won't notice, and then I'll balance. And sometimes that little shoulder devil can be damned persuasive. Also, there was cake tonight. Carrot cake. With cream cheese icing. It was good. I didn't save you any.
Sydney today was partly cloudy with a high of 25, and a low of 15. You bastards: hogging all the warm weather.

Tuesday, April 5, 2005 10:45pm(shift: 4-10pm)
I was on cash today, and my debit broke. Fine. So I unplugged it and plugged it back in again. It still didn't work. I did this a couple of times, and it finally worked. The customer didn't look too happy. After they left, the next person said that people shouldn't act like that, it wasn't my fault, and that I did get it working in the end...
Sometimes people aren't so bad after all. But don't tell them I said that.
Why couldn't today be partly cloudy with a high of 20 and a low of 5, like in Quetzaltenango, Guatemala?

Monday, April 4, 2005 11:46pm (shift: 6-11:30pm)
Hokay. So. I turn on the radio on my way home from work (yes, I do work in a grocery store), and the first thing I hear is "sheets of ice are falling...from the CN tower." My first reaction was COOL! My second reaction was to change the channel because there was no music on. My other station gave me the weather in London. Doncha hate that?
When I woke up on April first, it was snowing. I don't mean just a little flurry that melts somewhere between your eyes and your feet, I'm talking about huge flakes that stuck to the grass along with wind that can blow huge signs over that are bolted to the ground (ie, the one outside my store). The streets stayed clear all day. When I woke up at 7:00 it was still snowing, and now, since the temperature dropped during the night, the streets were covered, too. And when I say 'covered', I mean that it wouldn't be a waste of time to get out the shovel and start hauling it away. It snowed all Saturday, too, and the wind was really bad. You could barely see a few feet in front of your face, that is, if you could bear the sting of the wind in your eyes long enough to try and look a few feet in front of you. By midday Sunday, it was all gone. When will Persephone learn to come out of the underworld on time?
By the way, I pity you people in Basel, Switzerland with all that rain and that fifteen degree weather.

I will have to...well, I'll have to think of something. Something with monkeys. Or ninjas. Ooooh: ninja monkeys.
Yes. Definitely evil ninja monkeys.
